Before he wrote Les Misérables, Victor Hugo had another creative outlet — painting. And he painted octopuses. This design features Hugo's own moody, atmospheric watercolor of an octopus, created by the legendary French author in the mid-1800s.
Hugo was famously fascinated (and slightly terrified) by the octopus, writing vividly about them in his novel Toilers of the Sea. His artwork captures that mix of awe and unease — dark, dramatic, and utterly captivating.
This is wearable art history. A premium unisex tee featuring a design created by one of the greatest writers who ever lived, who also happened to be obsessed with cephalopods. You're in good company.
For: literature lovers, art history fans, and anyone who appreciates that even Victor Hugo couldn't resist the octopus.
